HI
Implementations
In order for JSF applications to run, they need a JSF implementation. A JSF implementation is a servlet that provides all of the plumbing necessary to make JSF work plus a bunch of standard features like basic components, an HTML RenderKit, and so on. Implementations require a servlet container, which they may or may not include.

Icefaces too provides its own servlet then how come its not an implementation even on the website it is placed in renderkits tab, i understand that it does provide a D2D renderkit and a server DOM manager etc but it also provides the persistent faces servlet instead of using the faces servlet.
how come then its not an implementation of the JSF standard.. and just only a pluggable renderkit
Thanks

HI Ken
Thanks a lot for the clarification. Hope we can have a long association with icefaces
but another issue which is our concern is performance and also is icefaces a JSF implementation much like Apache myfaces. we are much confused on the same hope we can get pointers of what ICEfaces actually is and would it affect performance of JSF which by itself has performance issues. are there any benchmark results ???
Looking forward to your reply
cheers :-)

ICEfaces extends JSF to provide Ajax features and can work with the Sun Reference Implementation or Apache MyFaces.
So its not exactly an implementation of JSF like Myfaces right ?
But then how does it integrate with the same and does it change/break the JSF lifecycle.
